Jr. High (7th-8th)
Welcome!
Our Jr. High program – Coming Together Nights (CTN) is designed to offer your child(ren) with opportunities to apply their faith to situations that they encounter in their current culture. The middle school years can be more challenging developmentally and we want to provide a space where they can talk about counter-culture things and understand how to engage in discussion with charity. The goal is to ultimately see your child(ren) appreciate and consult their faith in their decision making.
The program follows a flipped classroom model, which is a blended learning approach where students learn new material online and the in person sessions engage them in discussion, activities, and problem-solving. Each month the students will do at home lessons utilizing the St. Mary’s Press curriculum, called Catholicism 101. It is an eLearning mini-course to help young people learn the essentials of the Catholic faith and touch on topics that correlate to Confirmation. We will have an in-person review of each module as outlined on the CTN calendar. It is important that the student completes the lessons at home in order to engage in discussion at the in-person review sessions.
CTN will have bi-monthly in-person gatherings on Sunday nights for Jr. High kids only.
Every evening will begin with prayer. Students are seated in small groups. Small groups are set to develop a deeper bond/relationship with others. In each small group, there is prayer, activity, and discussion of the modules completed at home. The evening will end with a reading from the Bible and a prayer led by the CTN leader.
Students will be asked to complete one module from the e-learning course Catholicism 101 during each at-home week. These should be completed before the in-person review session to facilitate discussion.
Please note that registration fees have changed this year from a full-family rate structure to a per-child structure. This change was made to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the Faith Formation program while continuing to provide meaningful experiences for all families and students. This structure includes children in both Family Formation and CTN. Your registration is not complete until we receive full payment. You may pay online or submit a check to the parish office made payable to St. Patrick with “Faith Formation” in the memo line. Registration closes on Friday, August 7, 2026.

Confirmation
In order to receive the sacrament of Confirmation your child(ren) must be enrolled in our Jr. High program for two consecutive years. Confirmation preparation classes will be offered in the second year.
There will be four classes that your child(ren) must attend (at times parents may be asked to participate as well). They will be held in the springtime.
All kids are also expected to attend a retreat and receive the sacrament of reconciliation before the reception of Confirmation. Confirmation Mass will be offered in the fall.
