About St. Vincent DePaul Society

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 on the principle of actively helping those in need with an open heart and open mind.  Today, it is a worldwide organization.  Locally, the St. Patrick Conference of St. Vincent de Paul has been aiding people throughout Kendall County since 2010.

Through the generous donations of the many people who support our efforts, we provide financial and other assistance to offset the costs of rent, utilities, food and clothing of our clients in need, regardless of socio-economic background or religious affiliation.

Our motto – “No work of charity is foreign to the Society,” guides us in our efforts to build and maintain our community by helping in any way that is needed.

Volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul

We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to make an impact where it matters most. Every week, families in the Yorkville community experience unexpected emergencies—rent shortfalls, utility shut-offs, medical bills—and need someone who cares. Your time and talents can bring stability and hope when it’s needed most. In 2025, our volunteers helped over 75 families navigate emergencies, regain stability, and rebuild their lives. Your involvement can multiply that impact.

Available Roles

• Outreach Visitor: Conduct phone or in-home visits to assess needs and offer compassionate prayerful support.
• Treasurer: Oversee budgeting, track expenses, and ensure financial transparency.
• Secretary: Manage meeting notes, correspondence, and organizational records.
• Vice President: Partner with leadership to guide strategy, coordinate teams, and expand our reach.

Training & Time Commitment – We train up to four new volunteers at a time through an inclusive, hands-on program. Once onboarded, you’ll:

• Attend two one-hour virtual meetings per month
• Contribute an additional 2–3 hours weekly, scheduled to fit your days, evenings, or weekends
