The Pentecost Novena begins today! This is the first ever novena of the Catholic Church. Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He promised His Apostles that He would never leave them alone and would give them the gift of the Holy Spirit. After His Ascension, the Apostles prayed for nine days which led up to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. That was the first novena!
