March 19 4PM Update on COVID 19 impacting St. Patrick Parish:
As understood in today’s communication from Bishop Pates which curtails virtually all normal activities of a church, and out of a concern for the well-being of our most at-risk parishioners, we will be closing Adoration indefinitely, beginning at 6PM tonight. If you haven’t already viewed the most recent information coming out of the Diocese of Joliet, posted on our website, please also know that Stations of the Cross, Daily Mass and Weekend masses are also suspended until further notice.
As we would in a snow or ice storm in which travel is potential dangerous, especially for the elderly, the church needs to be closed until or unless a safe environment can be assured.
Effective tomorrow, Friday, March 20th, only priests, deacons and very limited essential staff are allowed per the diocese to be in parish offices. As such, we will continue to keep our parish office closed but lightly manned until further notice.
It is our current plan to continue to live stream non-public Mass on Sundays at 10:30, for real time or later viewing. We will continue to update you on this and all other issues relating to the impact of the COVID 19 on our parish through our parish website www.stpatrickyorkville.org and other means of electronic communication. Please know our prayers continue for you and your family.
Jesus, I trust in You.
