The Sacrament of Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry.

Every week St. Patrick families have the opportunity to host a Vocation Chalice and Rosary in their homes to promote prayers for priests and vocations. The Vocation Chalice was made in Jerusalem from olive tree wood and was blessed by our Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. The Chalice was present at the coffin of Blessed John Paul II in Rome during his beatification on May 1, 2011.
The Chalice was also taken to Medjugorje, the site of the Marian apparitions, where many miracles of healing and conversion have taken place.
The designated family has the Vocation Chalice and Rosary in their home for one week to pray that God will raise up in all our parish community, priests and deacons, religious, consecrated lay people and missionaries according to the needs of the whole world. To schedule the Vocation Chalice and Rosary in your home, please call Adele Keller at 630-553-6671.
